E-Mail: Carol Greenwald
Carol Greenwald is a local Chevy Chase, Maryland artist who is currently working primarily in pastels. My works celebrate the joys of luminous color.
Painting en plein air, I try to capture the beauty of the Maryland landscape, particularly the treasure of the C&O Canal, as well as the very different beauty of the Tetons, where I vacation every year. Painting also captures the tantalizing colors of my travels to the Bahamas, China and Israel.
I have exhibited in a variety of local venues. In addition to several solo shows at the Yellow Barn gallery, I have exhibited at the C&O Canal Art show, the Glen Echo Labor Day Art show, the Chevy Chase Woman’s Club and Somerset House. I have also exhibited in juried shows at Friendship Heights Gallery and the Yellow Barn as well as Nationally juried shows at Strathmore Hall.
I have been studying pastels with Jean Hirons at Montgomery College. Previously I studied oil painting with Walt Bartman at the Yellow Barn and watercolor with Rachel Collins at the Torpedo Factory and drawing with Sandra Ullman at Somerset House.
