After graduating from the Maryland Institute of Art Jim worked for Marson Gallery in Baltimore until moving to the Delmarva Peninsula. In recent years he has shown work and won awards in Maryland and Delaware, participating in group and solo exhibits. He is represented in multiple galleries and is a member of the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters of America.

Jim’s enthusiasm is for plein air painting in the tradition of the impressionists. He is inspired by those original artists and the light he’s discovered in the ever changing landscape.
