Artist Statement
Marv Stern painted for the first time in the summer of 2004 following a 45 year career as an intellectual property lawyer. Studying art has provided both a joy at the product and a passion for the process. The style varies from impressionistic to abstract, seeking to capture the energy of the subject and stimulate the imagination of the artist and the viewer. The paintings are inspired by the subject, sometimes landscapes or photographs, but mostly from live models at the Yellow Barn in Glen Echo, Maryland and now at several locales in southern Florida.
