Recent Work by Robinwyn D. Lewis
I have been painting seriously since the early 1990’s. I studied with watercolorist David Daniels in Takoma Park, Maryland for three years. Then after a series of classes in different media at the Maryland College of Art and Design and the Studio School in Georgetown, I started classes in oils with Walt Bartman at the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo Park. I have been taking classes with him ever since.
I paint a wide variety of subject matter, including still lifes, figures and landscapes. I also do commission paintings of people’s homes that I call HomePortraits. I love color and use it enthusiastically in my work. The boldness of color use that I discovered in oils has informed my work in other media. Other than Walt Bartman, the Impressionists have had the single biggest influence on my work. For further information, please visit my web site www.robinwyn.com or contact me by email.
