Artist's Statement

Art has always been a central part of my life. Since childhood, encouraged by a creative family, I have spent many of my happiest hours painting or drawing. My serious studies began at the High School of Music and Art in New York, and continued in Washington, D. C. at George Washington University and the Corcoran. Since 2002 I have been focusing more energy on my artwork, after many years of managing Federal environmental programs. My oil and watercolor paintings have won awards in many local shows, and I have had solo exhibits in galleries in Bethesda, and on the Eastern Shore, in addition to the Yellow Barn. A selection of my artwork is always on view at Gallery 322 in Frederick. My inspiration comes from the life, light and color of the world around me, and I enjoy learning from the Yellow Barn community of artists.
